Daniel L. McCartney

Daniel L. McCartney age 58 of Garrett, IN died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital – Fort Wayne, IN. Dan was born January 19, 1960 in Garrett, IN to Lewis A. “Louie” and Alice Mae (Springer) McCartney. Dan married Tammy M. LaPierre on November 24, 1984 in Waterloo, I. He was a supervisor at Victor Reinz Valve Seals – Avilla, IN, retiring in 2018.

Dan was a member of the Garrett First Baptist Church and was an IHSAA wrestling official.

Dan is survived by his wife: Tammy M. McCartney, Garrett, IN; 3 sons: Troy (Kelly) Hopkins, Ft. Wayne, IN; Jason (Tiffany) Hopkins, Garrett, IN; Eric (Carly) McCartney, Garrett, IN; 4 grandchildren; brothers: Mark (Sheryl) McCartney, Garrett, IN; Lewis “Andy” (Becky) McCartney Jr., Conway, Arkansas; Randy Westbrook, Butler, IN; sisters: Linda Watson, Newville, IN; Sharon McCartney, Arizona.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents: Lewis “Louie” and Alice Mae McCartney; sister and brother in-law: Sherry and Doyle Marten.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN with Rev. David Mix officiating.

Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 and 9-10 a.m. Saturday August 11, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home – Garrett, IN.

Burial will take place in Embrey Cemetery – Garrett, IN.
