Robert DeWayne Nodine

Robert DeWayne Nodine age 81 of Garrett, IN died Friday, June 29, 2018 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing Home – Ft. Wayne, IN. Robert was born November 16, 1936 in Garrett, IN to Lafayette W. and Mildred L. (Streb) Nodine and they preceded him in death. He married Janice E. Kruger on October 17, 1958 in Garrett, IN. Robert was an electrician at Auburn Gear for 12 years, retiring in 2000. He was a Korean War Marine veteran.

Robert was a member of the Auburn Moose for over 40 years and a member of the Garrett American Legion.

Robert is survived by his wife: Janice E. Nodine, Garrett, IN; son: DeWayne ad Susan Nodine, Fort Wayne, IN; daughter: Valerie and Craig Ludwig, Leesburg, VA; Grandchildren: Tiffany Sessom, Suffolk, VA and Chad Ludwig, Pittsburg, PA.; great grandchildren: Tianna Thompson, Alexander Owen ad Ryleigh Sessom, all of Suffolk, VA. He is also survived by 2 brothers: Richard Nodine, Garrett, IN; Eugene Nodine, Ashley, IN; 2 sisters: Sandra Richmond and Janet Bowers, Garrett, IN.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Kenneth Nodine and sisters: Barbara Isham, Kathleen Kurtz, Carolyn Zeider and Linda Nodine.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN

Services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. David Mix officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date in Christian Union Cemetery – Garrett, IN

Memorials are to the First Baptist Church – Garrett, IN or VA Hospital – Ft. Wayne, IN
