Barbara L. LaCross,76, of LaOtto and formerly of Hazel Park, MI died at 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Hamilton House Assisted Living in Fort Wayne, IN. Barbara was born May 8, 1933 in Alma, MI to Theodore J. and Ruby A. (Hannafius) LaCross. She was a seamstress and a member of the Voice of Deliverance Tabernacle Church in Kendallville, IN. Barbara is survived by 3 sister in-laws; Diana LaCross of Dryden, MI, Kathryn LaCross of Garrett, IN and Betty Scott of Columbua City, IN. A niece, Eileen Marks of Garrett, 3 great nieces and nephews and 5 great great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her close friend, Nancy Silva of Fort Wayne, IN. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, William "Bill" and Robert LaCross and a great great nephew. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009 and from Noon until 1 p.m. on Friday July 17 at Thomas Funeral Home in Garrett, IN. The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 17 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Joel Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to Parkview Hospice or the Amercian Cancer Society.
