Betty Jean Yingling of Garrett, Indiana May 10, 1922 - December 1, 2014 Betty Jean Yingling age 92 of Garrett, IN died Monday, December 1, 2014 at Betz Nursing Home - Auburn, IN. She was born May 10, 1922 in Kendallville, IN to Nelson and Ruth (Bennett) Crofoot and they preceded her in death. She married Kenneth W. Yingling on May 22, 1945 in Kendallville, IN and he died August 3, 1983. Betty was an accomplished musician and worked as an assembler at Stanadyne in Garrett, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Garrett Presbyterian Church, Garrett Eagles Aux. and the Women of the Moose- Auburn, IN. Betty is survived by 2 sons: Kenneth (Alice) Yingling, Garrett, IN; Stephen (Holly) Yingling, Mt. Vernon IN and a daughter: Bettina (Sean) Hollingsworth, Hooksett, NH; 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents: Nelson and Ruth Crofoot; husband: Kenneth W. Yingling; son: Warren Derwood Yingling; brother: Col. Warren Crofoot and sister: Eileen Kemerly. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN Services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. William Haworth officiating. Burial in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett, IN Memorials are to the DeKalb Humane Society or the donor's choice.
