Beverly Ann Shumaker age 78 of Avilla, IN died at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Provena Sacred Heart Home - Avilla, IN. She was born July 28, 1932 in Fort Wayne, IN to Peter P. and Zelda M. (Telegman) Lemish and they preceded her in death. She was married May 18, 1974 in Ege, IN to Lavon "Bill" Shumaker and he died December 23, 1981. She was a central supply operating room technician at Parkview Hospital for 31 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church - Avilla, IN; Kendallville Women of the Moose, Avilla American Legion Auxiliary and Harvest House - Kendallville, IN. Beverly is survived by her aunt: Mary Ann Heitz, Waterloo, IN; A½ sisters: Rita Moss, St. Louis, MO and Sally Ann Seigman, Fort Wayne, IN. She is also survived by many cousins. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband: Lavon "Bill" Shumaker; parents: Peter P. and Zelda M. Lemish; and a brother: Donald P. Lemish. Visitation will be from 9-9:45 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at Provena Sacred Heart Home - Avilla, IN and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Avilla, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Erpelding officiating. Burial will follow in Ege Cemetery - Ege, IN. Memorials are to Masses or the Provena Sacred Heart Home Activities Department.
