Blanche Williams age 92 of Garrett, In died at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Garrett, IN. Blanche was born on November 22, 1914 in Avilla, IN to Marshall L. and Mary Mae Belle (Conkle) Andrews. She married Raymond P. Williams on April 2, 1931 in Auburn, IN and he died September 22, 1987. Blanche was the former owner of Blanche's Carpet Shop in Garrett for 35 years, but she had been retired many years. Her lifestyle was exemplified by never-ending selflessness as she joyfully filled the roles of mother, grandmother, and Great Grandmother.She loved volunteer work as she ministered to the seniors at Miller's Merry Manor for many years. Beyond that, her favorite thing in life included cooking, fishing, attending church, and family gatherings. She was a member of the former Good Shepard Fellowship Church of Garrett. Blanche is going to be greatly missed by those who have been privileged to know her well. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Thomas Funeral Home. Officiating will be Larry Williams. Burial in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to the Miller's Merry Manor Activities Department.
