Carl Lapadot Sr. age 89, of Avilla died on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 7:25 p.m. at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. He was born September 26, 1920 in Fort Wayne to Emil and Rose (Kolkman) Lapadot. He married Wilberta Lehman on August 24, 1946 in Fort Wayne and she survives in Avilla. He was a WWII veteran having served in the Army Air Corps. He was a steelworker at Slater Steel in Fort Wayne for 37 years retiring in 1977. Also surviving is a son and daughter in-law, Mike and Barb Lapadot of LaOtto; 2 daughters, Carol Holcomb of Avilla and Cathy Murphy of Providence Village, TX; a daughter in-law, Diann Lapadot of LaOtto; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Lapadot Jr. and a daughter, Linda Schoenauer. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, with Tom Novy officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery in rural Garrett. There will be no calling. Memorials are to the Donor's Choice.
