Catherine M. Wiant age 95 of Garrett, In died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Provena Sacred Heart Home - Avilla, IN. She was born September 1, 1914 in Garrett to Bernard and Jennie (Krus) Johnson. She had worked for Auburn Auto, Messengers, the DeKalb County Court House and was a secretary at Dana Corp. in Fort Wayne, IN before her retirement in 1980. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett, Rosary Society, Harvest House and Psi Iota Xi Sorority. Survivors include: Son - Robert P. and Marilyn Waint, Adams Lake, Wolcottville, IN Son - David T. and Pat Wiant, Garrett, IN Daughter - Mary M. Clarke, Stockton, CA 7 Grandchildren 10 great Grandchildren Preceded in death by: Parents - Bernard and Jennie Johnson Sister - Rita Mavis Reeves Brothers - Edward and Tommy Johnson A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church - Garrett, IN with Fr. Andrew Nazareth officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Garrett. Calling will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. Memorials are to St. Joseph Catholic School or Church.
