Charles W. "Chuck" Fike, age 77 died on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at his residence in Garrett, IN. He was born on September 5, 1931 in Corunna, IN to Arthur Fike Sr. and Elva M. Harter. He married Donna Hollis on August 19, 1950 in Corunna, IN and she survives in Garrett. He was the founder of Fike's Machine Shop in Garrett retiring in 1988. He was a member of Zion 16 Lutheran Church in Corunna, IN. Chuck was an avid bowler, golfer and bridge player. Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Gary and Julie Fike of Fort Wayne, IN; grandson Brandon Fike of Fort Wayne, IN; brother James Fike of Garrett, IN and a sister Beverly Thurman of Garrett, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold and Arthur Fike Jr. and a sister Edna Schulthess. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2007 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor John F. Stuck officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery. Memorials are to Zion 16 Lutheran Church.
