Charles "Charlie" Johnson May 25, 1934 - August 16, 2014 Charles "Charlie" L. Johnson age 80 of Garrett, IN died Saturday at Betz Nursing Home – Auburn, IN. She was born May 25, 1934 in Lee County, VA to Arthur and Mary (Collins) Yeary. She married Harold E. Johnson on October 24, 1953 in Waterloo, IN and he died September 12, 2012. She worked in assembly at Stanadyne in Garrett, IN for 21 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church – Auburn, IN. Charlie loved to camp and tend to her flowers. She is greatly missed by her dog Satchel. Charlie is survived by 3 daughters : Jolene Murphy, Garrett, IN; Malinda Meyer, Garrett, IN; and SuLynn (Randy) Priest, Montpelier, OH. She is also survived by a sister: Eula Mansfield, Auburn, IN and 2 sister in-laws: Thelma Acker, Auburn, IN and Joyce Yeary, Clarkston, GA. She is survived by 10 grandchildren: Samuel (Angie) Hippensteel, LeeAnne (Rob) Woodward, Jennifer Murphy, Logan, Ryan and Brooke Meyer, Jason (DiAnn) Smith, Kelly (Tim) Head, Mendy (JR) Treace and Randy (Kristin) Priest Jr. She also had 10 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at Thomas Funeral Home – Garrett, IN and also 1 hour prior to services at Trinity Lutheran Church on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Auburn, IN with Rev. Jonathan Nack officiating. Burial will follow in Waterloo Cemetery – Waterloo, IN Memorials are to Trinity Lutheran Church or Memory Care Unit at Betz Nursing Home.
