Charles L. Steinbacher, age 99 of Garrett and formerly of Noble County, died on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Garrett. He was born October 31, 1910 in Ft. Wayne to Joseph and Edith (Myers) Steinbacher. He married Dolores "Dolly" Lakey on June 12, 1935 and she died May 7, 2009. He is survived by a son, Robert C. Steinbacher of Sebastian, FL and 3 daughters; Dolores and Gerald Hedges of Ft. Wayne, Sharon and James Miller of Ft. Wayne and Barbara and James Fahling of GA; brother, Thomas Steinbacher of Ft. Wayne; 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 6 sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30 from 5-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 31 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Russ Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Thorn Cemetery, Wolfe Lake.
