Christine R. Brown, 66 of Garrett, IN died at 7:15 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 at her residence. She was born March 23, 1943 in East Burnest, KY to Arthur and Wilma (Hibbard) Reid. She married James L. Brown on November 5, 1960 in New Port, KY. Christine was a Garrett resident from 1964-1989, before moving to Springfield, OH and then returned to Garrett in 2003. She worked as a grinder at Ball Brass in Auburn, IN for 15 years, retiring in 1989. Surviving is her husband, James L. Brown of Garrett; 3 daughters, Denise and Allen Green of Garrett, Tonya and Jerry Pearson of Middlebury, IN and Janice and Andy Gonya of Garrett. She is also survived by a son, James A. Brown of Fort Wayne, IN; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a sister, Lois Dryden of Sarasota, FL and a brother, Paul Reid of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Esmer, Gene and Anthony Reid and a sister, Shirley Reid. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Home in Garrett, IN. A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to St. Martin's Healthcare, St. Matin's Soup Kitchen or the Community Care Food Pantry.
