Damon B. Hornett age 39 of Butler, IN died Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 25, 1977 in Auburn, IN to David J. and Janet A. (Pepple) Smart. He was as a construction contractor and was currently working at SDI as a welder.

Damon is survived by his children: Haleigh Hornett, Butler, IN; Lane Hornett, Garrett, IN; Audrey Hornett, Pleasant Lake, IN; and Zayda Hornett, Auburn, IN; sister: Heather (Hornett) and Robin Snidle, Garrett, IN; brother: Justin (Desiree Nodine) Smart, Spencerville, IN; 3 grandchildren; father: David J. Hornett, Kendallville, IN; mother: Janet A. Smart, Kendallville, IN; grandparents: Sandy and Dwight Gallimore, Kendallville, IN.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Harold and Ruth Pepple and John Hornett.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Sweet Church Community Center, 3015 E. 415 N., Albion, IN 46701 with services by Funeral Celebrant Thomas Drzewiecki officiating. The family asks that anyone wishing to share a story at the service to please do so.

Burial will follow in Sweet Cemetery, Albion, IN
