David M. "Barney" Diederich age 69 and a lifetime resident of Garrett, IN died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at his home. He was born August 23, 1943 in Garrett, IN to August F. and Vesta (Barber) Diederich and they preceded him in death. David worked for Northern Indiana Fuel and Light in Auburn for 38 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Garrett, IN, Garrett Eagles and VFW. David is survived by his daughter: Rebecca Diederich, Garrett, IN and grandson: Brandon Bowman, Huntsville, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents: August and Vesta Diederich; brother: James Diederich; and 4 sisters: Evelyn Baughman, Nancy Hazeltine, Wanda Savio, and Marlene Miller. Services will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN with Rev. Herbert Gerken officiating. Calling will take place from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 prior to services. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery - Auburn, IN Memorials are to Rebecca Diederich
