Dennis "Denny" W. Blaker age 72 of Ashely, IN died Friday, April 6, 2018 at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. He was born July 11, 1945 in New York, NY to David Wayne and Mary Lou (Abram) Blaker.

He married Theresa M. Wheeler on November 19, 1965 In Ft. Wayne, IN. Denny worked as a process engineer at Auburn Gear, retiring in 2000. He was a Vietnam Army veteran.

Denny was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church – Garrett, IN; Garrett American Legion Post #178, VFW and Garrett Eagles.

Denny is survived by his wife: Theresa Blaker, Ashley, IN; daughter: Barbara (Brian) Patterson, Garrett, IN; son: Dennis W. Blaker II, Garrett, IN; grandchildren: Abby Patterson, New castle, IN; Alyssa Patterson, Garrett, IN; Wesley Blaker, Ashley, IN ; Wyatt Blaker, Ashley, IN; sister: Teri Lou (Mark Miner) McPheeters, Hamilton, IN; brother: Maurice "Moe" Lee McPheeters Jr., Garrett, IN; best friend: Dave Shafer, Ft. Wayne, IN.

Denny was preceded by his father: David Wayne Blaker; mother: Mary Lou McPheeters.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 and noon – 1 p.m. Thursday at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Yeager officiating.

Military honors will take place at the conclusion of services by the United States Army and the Garrett American Legion and VFW.

Burial will take place at a later date.
