Derek R. Conrad, age 36 of Garrett, beloved son of Phillip and Kathie (Speaker) Conrad, died in the loving arms of his family and friends on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 8, 1977 in Auburn, IN. He graduated from Garrett High School in 1995. He attended IPFW for three years and was currently a senior at The Chicago Institute of Art. Derek changed lives and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his parents; a brother, Nathan Conrad (Melissa Fulk) of Garrett; a nephew Clayton Conrad of Garrett; a Foster brother Aaron Thomas of Los Angeles, California; Dear friend, Chris Clesceri and numerous other friends. The funeral service will be held on Friday August 23, 2013 at 5 p.m. at County Line Church of God, 7716 North County Line Rd. in Auburn with Pastor Stuart Kruse officiating. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. at the church. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorials are to IPFW Costume Department or the Moth Radio Hour.
