Dolores "Dorrie" H. Mueller April 14, 1927 - May 24, 2014 Dolores H. "Dorrie" Mueller, age 87 of Garrett, died on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. She was born April 14, 1927 in Avilla to the late Herman and Helen M. (Carteaux) DePew. She married R. Joseph "Joe" Mueller on October 4, 1947 In Avilla and he died on October 16, 1990. Dorrie was a housekeeper for the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend for 30 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett and Past President of the Fort Wayne/South Bend National Council of Catholic Women. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lynn Weber of Woodridge, IL and Virgilia "Jill" Anne Mueller of Wawaka, IN; two sons, Daniel J. (Carol) Mueller of Huntertown and Randall A. (Peg) Mueller of LaGrange; three sisters, Naomi Ann Hoeffel of Garrett, Connie Helmkamp of Auburn and Josie Flesch of Ossian; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Papacek of Bloomington, IL, Shannon (Jason) Pope of Indianapolis and Alan Mueller of Indianapolis and a great grandson, Alexander Pope of Indianapolis. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Sue Mueller; two brothers, Donald and Paul DePew and three sisters, Gwen Meyer, Hermine Meyer and Marjorie Johnson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett, with Fr. Andrew Nazareth officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Garrett. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to mass at the church.
