Donald Gene Jordan, age 77 of Garrett, IN died on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 in Royal Oak, MI following an auto accident. He was born June 8, 1931 in DeKalb County, IN to Elza C. and Carrie B. (Haynes) Jordan. He married Roberta A. Dawson on June 17, 1950 in Garrett. Donald co-owned the Corunna Hardware and Jordan Construction since 1962. He also worked at the waste water treatment plant in Garrett for 11 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Cedar Lake Church Of The Brethren, the United States Bowling Congress League and was an honorary Corunna Fireman. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to services at the Cedar Lake Church of the Brethren. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Stauffer. Burial will follow in Corunna Cemetery. Memorials are to the DeKalb Heart Association or the church. Survivors include his wife, Roberta A. Jordan of Garrett, IN; 5 sons, William and Terry Jordan of Garrett,IN, Edward and Pam Jordan of New Haven, IN, Steve and June Jordan of Garrett,IN, Raymond and Leona Kratzman of Auburn, IN, Joe and Teresa Kratzman of Scottsburg, IN. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Cindy and John Tarlton of Hudson,IN and Penny Houser of Butler, IN. 4 brothers, Robert L. Jordan of Garrett, Junior E. Jordan of Hudson, Franklin D. Jordan of Auburn and Dallas E. Jordan of Auburn. He also has 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Loyal W. Jordan and sister, Helen N. Workman.
