Donald E. Pinkerton age 86 of Auburn, IN passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Auburn Village. Donald was born February 12, 1938 in Gas City, IN to Norman and Doris M. (Reynolds) Pinkerton. Donald married Dorothea "Rusty" Louise LaPierre and she passed away on May 9, 2024. Donald drove truck most of his life and most recently own a propane company in Florida.

Donald was a United States Marine Vietnam veteran and was a member of the Garrett American Legion Post#178, VFW and the Garrett Eagles.

Donald is survived by 2 daughters: Kerri (James) Hatton, Garrett, IN; Christy Pinkerton, Auburn, IN; son: Donald "Donny"  (Deana) Pinkerton, Auburn, IN; 3 brothers: DeWayne Pinkerton, Medford, OR; Phil Pinkerton, Auburn, IN; Alvin Pinkerton, Waterloo, IN; sister: Carol Forbes, Indianapolis, IN; 8 grandchildren: Amber, Destiny, Devin, Kody, Andrew, Mia, Tylor, and Brynn; 16 great grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothea "Rusty" Pinkerton; parents: Norman and Doris Pinkerton; sister: Linda Colbart.

Military Graveside services by the United States Marines and Garrett American Legion Post#178 will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024 at Christian Union Cemetery – Garrett, IN.
