Doris J. McIntosh age 95 of Garrett, IN passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born January 16, 1929 in Garrett, IN to Walter E. and Carrie Estella (Gordon) Burtch. She married George W. McIntosh on September 24, 1949 in Garrett, IN and he passed June 28, 1983. Doris was a homemaker most of her life. She worked at the Garrett License Branch and later as an assembler at Magnavox for 7 years, retiring in 1992. Doris graduated from Garrett High School - Class of 1947.

She was the oldest living member of the First Church of Christ – Garrett, IN, president – Sigma Phi Gamma Alumni, Garrett Homemakers.

Doris is survived by a son: Randy McIntosh, Rome City, IN; 3 daughters: Carol (Dan) Mueller, Huntertown, IN; Cathy Vogel, Garrett, IN; Christine (Fred) Grams, Ft. Wayne, IN; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband: George W. McIntosh; parents: Walter E. and Carrie Estella Burtch; companion for several years: Jerry Johnson; brothers: Howard, Walter and Robert Burtch; sisters: Frances Ketzenberger, Beverly Johnston, and Judy Lewellyn.

Services will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN. with Brother Bud Owen officiating.

Visitation will take place from noon – 2 p.m. prior to services

Burial will take place in Embrey Cemetery – rural Garrett.
