Dorothy Myrtle (Martin) Williams age 89 of Garrett, IN died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Miller's Merry Manor – Garrett, IN. Dorothy was born October 12, 1930 in Ogden, UT to Charles Kenneth and Lillian L. (Gehring) Martin and they preceded her in death. She married Roy R. Williams Sr. on October 7, 1966 in Garrett, IN and he died October 28, 2002. Dorothy Graduated from Garrett High School, Northwestern University – Evanston, IL and did her graduate work at St. Francis College. She lived in Chicago and later in New York City before returning to Garrett in 1961.

Dorothy was a member of the JAM Center and the Garrett United Methodist Church.

Dorothy was a journalist for a large portion of her life.

Dorothy is survived by her step-son: Rick Williams, Willits, CA; step-daughter – Margaret Eastes, Ft. Wayne, IN; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; cousins: Arthur and Mary Wagner and family, Frankfort, IL; Teresa Mason and family, San Antonio, TX.

As per Dorothy's wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial graveside service will be held at a later date.
