Dorothy Jean Werkhesier, 77 of Garrett, died on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at her residence. She was born December 26, 1932 in Auburn. Her parents were Harold Raymond and Mary Margaret (Manrow) Werkheiser, they preceded her in death. Dorothy was a Teacher for many years. She spent 10 years teaching in Garrett. She was a member of the former Corunna Methodist Church and the Indiana Retired Teachers Association. She was also very active as a volunteer for the DeKalb County Council On Aging. Dorothy is survived by a brother and sister in-law, Harold and Judy Werkheiser of Garrett; 2 Nieces and 2 Nephews. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, with Rev. Howard Compton officiating. Burial will follow in Corunna Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are to the DeKalb County Council On Aging.
