Earl "Ernie" C. DePew age 87 of Garrett, IN died Saturday, October 20,2007 in Garrett. He was born September 23, 1920 in Altona, IN to Clarence and Martha (Crummy) Depew. He married Mildred "Millie" I. Smith on January 21, 1947 in South Milford, IN and she died August 10, 2001. Earl worked at Northern Indiana Fuel and Light for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He was a WW II Army veteran and a member of the Garrett American Legion and Past Commander of the VFW. Earl was a member of the First Church of Christ in Garrett, IN. Visitaion will be 2-8 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2007 at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Thomas Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Pickard. Burial in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett, IN with graveside military by the Garrett American Legion and VFW. Memorials to Garrett High School Athletic Dept.
