Edmund J. Mezydlo, 74 of Westerville, OH and formerly of Garrett, IN, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in Westerville. He was born December 30, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Edmund and Hilaria (Vanderbosch) Mezydlo and they preceded him in death. He married Amber Kay Cramer on July 6, 1957 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett. She passed away on April 20, 2008. Ed was a 23 year United States Air Force Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked another 26 years as a civil servant with the F-16 Aircraft Technical Order Division before his retirement in 2004. Edmund was a member of the F-16 Hall of Fame (Aeronautical Systems Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base). He was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan, loved Classic Movies and writing his own songs. He is survived by two sons and daughters in-law; Mark and Jean Mezydlo of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Matt and Sharie Mezydlo of Westerville, Ohio; granddaughter, Jane and Craig Marynik and granddaughter, Jessie Mezydlo; great grandchildren; Lily, Julian, Kaysie and Grady Marynik. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett, with Fr. Andrew Nazareth officiating. Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN at 12:00 p.m. with military graveside honors by the U.S. Air Force. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 3-6 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett. Memorials are to the donor's choice
