Esom Glenn Sumner age 65 of Garrett, IN died Saturday, July 30, 2022 in Garrett, IN.  He was born July 1, 1957 in Hazard, KY to Eli Sumner Sr. and Hazel Marie (Eversole) Sumner.

Esom enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes and spending time with his family and friends.

Esom is survived by his 2 daughters: Kathy (Chris) Huth, Garrett, IN; Patricia (Bill Ellert) Sumner, Auburn, IN;  son: Esom Walters, Garrett, IN; sister: Mary (Randy) Pence, Garrett, IN; brothers: Norm Bud (Trish) Sumner, Vicco, KY; Coby Dean Sumner, Garrett, IN; Daniel James Sumner, LaGrange, IN;  grandchildren: Kandace Sumner, Chellsie Swonger, Dale Swonger III, Samantha Swonger, Nick Stotelmyer, Logan Huth, Rebekah Huth, Dexter Sexton Jr., Anastasia Green; great grandchildren: Jace Parke and Grey Lucas.

Esom is preceded in death by his parents: Eli and Hazel Sumner Sr.; daughter: Vicky Marie Sumner, sisters: Frances Ann Collins, Oral Lee Cody, Persie Sumner; brothers: Ova Wayne Sumner, Eli Sumner Jr., and John David Sumner

A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2022 at the Altona Town Hall.
