Dunkley age 97 of Garrett, IN died on her birthday, Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation – Fort Wayne, IN. She was born August 6, 1918 in Northfield, WI to Olaf M. and Ida (Curran) Fieldstad and they preceded her in death. She married Homer W. Dunkley on May 23, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI and he died August 26, 1997. She worked in retail sales during her working years. Evelyn was a member of the Garrett United Methodist Church Evelyn is survived by 2 daughters: Judy (Jim) Rahrig, Garrett, IN and Karen (Ed) Matthias, Lebanon, OH ; 5 grandchildren: Sara (Patrick ) Shelton, Lebanon, OH; Joel (Valerie) Rahrig, Garrett, IN; Janell (Michael) Boltz, Garrett, IN; Kristiane (Jeff ) Smith, Haymarket, VA, Jeremy Rahrig, Garrett, IN ; and 8 great grandchildren: Emily Shelton, Olivia Smith, Ashton Smith, Aiden, Conner, and Sophia Boltz, Caitlan Boltz and Jessica Immel; 1 great great grandchild: Xion Immel Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband: Homer W. Dunkley; parents: Olaf and Ida Fieldstad; and 2 brothers: Donald Fieldstad Sr. and Richard Lawrence Fieldstad. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 and Noon – 2 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home – Garrett, IN Services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Shoaff and Chaplain Mark Steiner officiating.
