Evelyn L. "Evie" Kennedy age 76 of Garrett, IN died at 2 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at Provena Sacred Heart Home - Avilla, IN. She was born February 18, 1936 in Garrett, IN to Dana H. and Hazel B. (McClure) Garen and they preceded her in death. Evelyn married Dale M. Kennedy on June 11, 1955 in Garrett, IN. She was a homemaker and member of the Garrett Presbyterian Church. Evelyn is survived by her husband: Dale M. Kennedy, Garrett, IN and 3 sons: Dennis (Colleen) Kennedy, St. Louis, MO; Bruce Kennedy, Chain of Lakes, Albion, IN and Steven Kennedy, Garrett, IN. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Dana H. and Hazel B. Garen; a sister: Marian Franklin and a daughter in-law: Jeanie Kennedy. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN. Services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. William Haworth officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett, IN.
