Floyd I. Pfierman age 96 of Garrett, IN died at 5:12 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at Parkview Hospital - Fort Wayne, IN. Floyd was born August 14, 1913 in Harlan, IN to Fredrick and Mary (Pierman) Pfierman. He married Rebekah B. Lawrence on October 6, 1940 in Harlan. He was a farmer and worked at Tokheim Pump in Fort Wayne, IN for 28 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren, Garrett Masonic Lodge, Garrett Eagles, DeKalb County Men's Chorus and DeKalb County Farm Bureau where he was President for 18 years. Floyd loved to fish and farm. He even taught his 4 daughters how to fish. He is survived by his wife - Rebekah B. (Lawrence) Pfierman of Garrett and 4 daughters: Sharon Bashore of Apache Junction, AZ; Sandra and John Heitz of Kendallville; Linda Pfierman of Fort Wayne and Joyce and John Crain of Garrett. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister - Clara Brandon and 2 brothers - Ernest and Clarence Pfierman. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home 1277 C.R. 56 Garrett, IN, with Pastor Brad Hardesty officiating. Burial will follow in Embrey Cemetery in rural Garrett. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials are to the Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren
