George L. Coleman Jr. age 67 of Garrett, IN died Monday, November 23, 2009. He was born March 23, 1942 in Kendallville, IN to George L. and Laura Mae (Hoffelder) Coleman Sr. He was a graduate of Kendallville High School class of 1960. He married Lorraine M. Rowe on March 30, 1963 in Kendallville, IN and she died January 15, 2004.He served in the Army from 1960-1963, serving on their Honor Guard unit. He was a cook at Kraft Foods in Kendallville, IN for 45 years, retiring September 1, 2009. George enjoyed I.U. Basketball and playing poker with his friends. Coleman, Auburn, IN Grandson - Zachary Coleman, Auburn, IN Granddaughter - Christina Meyer, Auburn, IN Grandson - Seth Coleman, Avilla, IN Granddaughter - McKenzie Coleman, Ashley, IN Brother - Charles and Cheryl Coleman, Garrett, IN Brother - Randy and Sharon Coleman, Auburn, IN Brother - Ronald and Sherri Coleman, Kendallville, IN Sister - Judy and Joe Straw, Rome City, IN Sister In-Law - Carol Parr, Garrett, IN Sister In-Law - Barbara Rowe, Garrett, IN Brother In-Law - Richard Rowe, Waterloo, IN Preceded in death by: Father - George L. Coleman Sr. Wife - Lorraine M. Coleman A graveside memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett, IN with Fr. Derrick Sneyd officiating. There will be graveside military services by the Garrett American Legion, VFW and U.S. Army. Memorials are to the family.
