Gerald W. Carper, 78, of Garrett, IN died at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, IN. He was born February 26, 1930 in Garrett, IN to Victor C. and Olga Faye (Miller) Carper. He was a tool room foreman at Kitchen Quip in Waterloo, IN for 35 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Garrett American Legion and the First Church of Christ in Garrett. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Lilley of the First Church of Christ will officate. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery, rural Garrett, IN. Memorials are to the First Church of Christ in Garrett, IN.
