Gerald K. Hedges Sr. age 77 of Fort Wayne, IN and formerly of Albion, IN died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital - Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born April 15, 1935 in Fort Wayne, IN to Timothy and Clare (Hubert) Hedges and they preceded him in death. He married Dolores M. "Chic" Steinbacher on December 23, 1958 in Fort Wayne, IN. He was a beer salesman for Allen Products for 20 years and later worked for Excel and Alco Beer Distributing companies, retiring in 1995. Gerald is survived by his wife: Dolores M. "Chic" Hedges, Fort Wayne, IN; 3 sons: Dan Hedges and Steven Hedges, Fort Wayne, IN and Gerald K. Hedges Jr., Houston, TX. 2 daughter's survive: Rhonda (John) Shatzer and Jill (Tim) Neu, both of Garrett, IN. He is survived by a brother: Calvin "Pete" Hedges, Fort Wayne, IN; 5 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Thomas Funeral Home, with services being held at 5 p.m. Officiating will be Dave Altman. Memorials are to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
