Glen G. Nodine, age 79 died on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 8:06 a.m. at his residence in Garrett, IN. He was born on August 1, 1929 in Garrett, IN to Walter and Dolly (Curtland) Nodine, they preceded him in death. He married Patricia A. Rhodes on April 15, 1940 and she died on January 19, 2003. He was an Army veteran, serving duing the Korean War. He worked at McCray Refrigeration until it's closing. He owned the "Hi Spot Tavern" in Garrett from 1971-1984. He then worked at Kitchen Quip and Tesco in Waterloo, IN, retiring in 1993. Glen was a member of the Garrett Presbyterian Church, the J.C.'s, Eagles, Elks and American Legion of Garrett. Glen is survived by 2 sons, Michael and Mary Jane Nodine and Jon Nodine all of Garrett, IN; 2 daughters, Cynthia DeWitt of Garrett and Ralana and Bradley Pontius of Garrett, IN. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Dane DeWitt, Leandra DeWitt, Denissa Geeting, Anitra McClure, Todd Nodine, Beth Pontius, Adam Pontius, Alex Nodine and Nick Nodine. Great granchildren: Synndel DeWitt, Allyssia DeWitt, Dyllian Fender, Cheyenne Jensen, Casey Pontius, Caleb Grim, Bryce Nodine, London Nodine, Thackery McDonald, Sabin McClure, Abbey Geeting and Autumn Geeting. Glen was preceded in death by a son in-law, Forrest DeWitt, a great grandson, Preston Nodine, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. William Haworth officiating. Burial will follow in Chirstian Union Cemetery with military graveside services by the Garrett American Legion and VFW. Memorials are to DeKalb Home Health and Hospice or for Cerebral Palsy.
