Harry Hudson "Hud" Freeze, age 95 of Garrett, died on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Garrett. He was born June 28, 1918 in Garrett to the late Harry H. and Bertha (Koble) Freeze. He married Frances C. Nowacki on January 15, 1944 and she died February 5, 1994. He was a WWII veteran having served in the US Army. Hud was a conductor on the B&O Railroad for 40 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Garrett First Baptist Church, Garrett American Legion, Eagles and Elks. He is survived by a son and daughter in-law, Hud and Claudia Freeze of San Diego, CA and a daughter, Jacqualine Freeze of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Freeze. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Garrett. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56 and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Rev. David Mix will officiate. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to The Rocket Fund for CDG Research, Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home or First Baptist Church.
