Helen M. Barger, 76, of Garrett, IN died on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Lutheran Hospital. She was born on May 31, 1931 in DeKalb County, IN to Arthur N. and Lucy F. (Beard) Newcomer. She was a lifetime Garrett resident. She had worked at Bauman and Harnish in Garrett, IN for 28 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member and Greeter at the First Baptist Church in Garrett, IN. She also was a member of the Garrett Eagles Auxiliary and RSVP. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Fisrt Baptist Church in Garrett, IN with Rev. David Mix officiating. Burial will follow in Embrey Cemetery.
