Helen A. Carlin - 102 years old, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 30,2008 at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett. Helen was born February 9, 1905 in Butler, IN to Frank and Della (Hiner) McDonald. She married Joseph M. Carlin on November 23, 1929 in Chicago, IL and he died in January 1952. Helen was a teacher in the Garrett Public Schools for 6 years, and then worked at Creek Chub Bait Co. as a payroll clerk for 20 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rosary Society in Garrett. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2008 at Thomas Funeral Home and 1/2 hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Rosary service at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m.Saturday, February 2, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett, IN Officiating will be Fr. Andrew Nazareth Burial will take place in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett Survivors include: Son - William J. and Mary L.
