Helen May Tooman, age 90, of Wabash, IN formerly of Garrett, IN died on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Wabash County Hospital. She was born on October 25, 1916 in Garrett, IN to Walter and Alta (Lung) Dowdend. She lived in DeKalb County her entire life until 2006 when she moved to Wabash, IN. She was a bookkeeper for the AP Grocery Store for 27 years. She also was an aide at J.E. Ober Elementary School. She was a member of the Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Canasta Card Club for over 45 years. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 2 pm. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials are to the Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren.
