Irene A. Canzier age 90 of Garrett, IN died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor - Garrett, IN. Irene was born on November 8, 1921 in Kendallville, IN to Michael and Sophia ( Hatzitsoris ) Canzier and they preceded her in death. She graduated from Indiana University - Bloomington, IN and was employed by the American Red Cross in Cleveland, OH. She later joined her parents in owning and operating The Superior Drive-In in Garrett, IN. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church - Fort Wayne, IN. and The Daughter's of Penelope - a fraternal and charitable organization. She was a former member of Tri Kappa Sorority. She is survived by cousins in Athens, Greece and the United States and many friends and neighbors. Visitation will take place from 4-6 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN. and 1 hour prior to services at the church. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 110 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825 with Father Paul Bebis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6600 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804 Memorials are to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Miller's Merry Manor Activity Department or the Donor's choice.
