Iris J. Campbell, 83 of Garrett, died on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Garrett. She was born June 26, 1929 in Fort Wayne to the late Darwin and Carrie Bryan. She married Lester M. Campbell August 2, 1947 in Garrett and he died December 13, 2011. Iris owned the dry cleaning shop at the Garrett Laundry. She is survived by a son, David S. Campbell of Auburn; a daughter, Kathy (Robert) Bond of Orland; granddaughter, Sonja (Greg) McCrory of Fort Wayne; grandson, Kirby (Gina) Shafer of Garrett; grandson, Christopher (Erica) Shafer of Garrett; 9 great grandchildren and a brother, Thomas James of St. Clairsville, OH. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Darwin Bryan. A gathering for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett. A private graveside service will take place on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to the DeKalb County Humane Shelter.
