Jack E. Davis age 75 of Garrett, IN passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday , May 17, 2017 at Miller's Merry Manor – Garrett, IN. Jack was born March 24, 1942 in Garrett, IN to Ora C. and Dorthy I. (Greenwalt) Davis. He married Joyce A. Freed on February 1, 1964 in Garrett, IN. He worked for International Harvester for 22 ½ years and owned and operated Garrett Auto Trim for over 50 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church – Garrett, IN and the Garrett American Legion Post#178. He served in the National Guard for 4 years. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed antique and classic cars.

Jack is survived by his loving wife: Joyce A. Davis, Garrett, IN; Daughters and sons in-law: Teri and Steve Foster, Garrett, IN; Tonya and Dave Vanderbosch, Garrett, IN; sons: Tom (Candace Lewis) Davis, Garrett, IN and Tim Davis, Garrett, IN; sister: Suzanne and Roger Stafford, Garrett, IN; 6 grandchildren: Orie and Hannah Foster, Hamilton, IN; Courtney Vanderbosch, Garrett, IN; Conner Foster, Garrett, IN; Kenzie Davis, Garrett, IN; Madison Vanderbosch, Garrett, IN; Cooper Davis, Garrett, IN and 2 great grandchildren: Hazen Foster, Hamilton, IN and Raelynn Vanderbosch, Garrett, IN.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents: Ora C. Davis and Dorthy I. Davis Shafer; and brother: Robert Davis

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home – Garrett, IN and from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the funeral home.

Services will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home with Brother Bud Owen of the First Church of Christ in Garrett officiating.

Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery – Garrett, IN

Memorials are to the American Cancer Society or DeKalb Home Health and Hospice.
