Dr. Jack Leroy Souder, age 75, of Andrews, NC died peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2013 after a long battle with cancer, in his mountain home in Franklin, NC, that her shared with his loving wife of six and a half years, Susan (Jaeger) Souder. He was born March 31, 1938 in Auburn to the late Stewart and Katherine (Saxer) Souder. Jack graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1968. He had a dedicated patient following in Steuben County for 33 years. They deeply loved and respected his healing abilities. After retirement he moved to Andrews, NC and there people soon realized his dedication and commitment to helping people. His life moved into the belief that "every movement of life is the movement of love. Love is our true nature." Jack embodied that until the very end. He was a beloved husband to his wife, Susan Souder of Franklin, NC; a loving father to his daughter, Rene Salinas, age 50, of Angola; his son, Monte Souder, age 48, of Hendersonville, NC and his step daughter, Robin Snidle, age 42, of Garrett; and a wonderful grandfather to his 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Don Souder of St. Louis, MO and Dale Souder of Auburn. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Souder, a grandson, Jeffrey Souder Jr., a brother, Joe Souder and his second wife of 18 years, Christine Souder. In accordance with Jack's wishes, he was cremated in North Carolina. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
