Jama S. Campbell age 72 of Garrett, IN passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Jama was born March 28, 1952 in Garrett, IN to George R. Payton Sr. and Arminda "Minnie" Payton. She married Russell Campbell on March 11, 1998 in Nashville, TN and he passed on April 21, 2023. Jama worked in the factory at Electric Motors and later as a ashier at Walmart for 11 years, retiring in 2012.

She was a member of the Church at Garrett, the red hats Society and the VFW Auxillary.

Jama is survived by her son: John (Paula) Perry, Waterloo, IN; daughter: Jennifer Lawhead, Garrett, IN; step sons: Russell "Duane" (Diane) Campbell, Bettendorf, IA; Curtis Campbell, Avilla, IN; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Jama was preceded in death by her parents: George R. Sr.and Arminda "Minnie" Payton; husband: Russell Campbell;  son in-law: Brian Lawhead.; 2 brothers: Bob Payton and Kim Payton; sister: Marilyn Helmick.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Nonn Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Church at Garrett.
