James W. Richmond age 80 of Garrett, IN died Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Parkview  Regional Medical Center – Ft. Wayne, IN. James was born October 24, 1943 in Garrett, IN to James and Joana Francis (Simon) Richmond. His father died when he was a small child and his mother later married John Grama.

James married Sandra M. Nodine on September 26, 1986 in Redlands, CA and she survives in Garrett, IN.

He was a member of the Redland Elks, Garrett Eagles, Knights of Columbus and Garrett Sons of the Legion and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

James had worked at XL Specialty Percussions and Bill's Liquor Store – retiring in 2016.

James is survived by his wife: Sandra M. Richmond, Garrett, IN; daughters: Tonya (Henry) Allen, Garrett, IN; Jennifer (Steve) Archer, Ft. Wayne, IN; 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his father: James Richmond; parents: John and Joana Grama; daughter and son in-law: Diane and Joel Sigler; great granddaughter: Laylah Underwood

Visitation will take place from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN 46738.

As per his wishes – there will be no services and burial will take place at a later date in Christian Union Cemetery – Garrett, IN.
