Jennie L. McCarthy January 22, 1937 - January 2, 2014 Jennie L. McCarthy, age 77, of Garrett, died on Tuesday, January 2, 2014. She was born January 22, 1937 in Maryville, TN to the late Roy and Jennie (Kellar) Tipton. She is survived by her husband, Ron McCarthy; 2 daughters, Cindy Bender and Joyce Winstel; a son, Duane Lapp; sister, Judy McCune; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A gathering of family of friends will be held on Saturday, January 11 from 1-3 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
