John W. Crain age 65 of Garrett, IN died at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at his home. He was born September 19, 1945 in Angola, IN to James Crain and Betty (Lepley) Rather and they preceded him in death. He married Joyce Pfierman on September 6, 1969 in Garrett, IN and she survives. He was a machine operator at Electric Motors and Specialties in Garrett, retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren and the Auburn Moose. He was an avid bowler and loved to golf. John is survived by his wife: Joyce Crain, Garrett, IN; mother in-law: Rebekah Pfierman, Garrett, IN; daughter: Dawn (Jason) Shull, Garrett, IN and 2 granddaughters: Kayla and Haylee Shull, Garrett, IN. He is also survived by a brother Phil Crain, CA and 2 sisters: Gloria Rottger, Auburn, IN and Diana Parker, NC. He was joined in death by his son: Joshua I. Crain; father in-law: Floyd Pfierman; and parents: James Crain and Betty Rather; and a brother: Jimmy Crain Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN.
