Joseph R. LaFever age 95 of Ft. Wayne, IN passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Joseph was born August 2, 1929 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Donald and Madonna LaFever. Joseph married Arlene M. Rogers on February 19, 1951 in Ft. Wayne, IN and she passed away on November 17, 2011. Joseph worked in the forge shop at International Harvester until retiring in 1976.

Joseph was a United States Army Veteran.

Joseph is survived by a son: Nick (Barbi) LaFever, Ft. Wayne, IN; 3 daughters: Jacklyn (Ben) Ramnarong, Ft. Wayne, IN; Beth (William) Lovitt, Ft. Wayne, IN; Lisa Robbins, Ft. Wayne, IN; so in-law: David Clark, Scottsdale, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife: Arlene M. LaFever; parents: Donald and Madonna LaFever; son: Chris J. LaFever; daughter: Cheryl Clark; 4 brothers: Harry, Russ, Paul and Donnie LaFever; sister: Phyllis; son in-law: Robert Robbins.

Visitation will take place from noon – 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Goodwin officiating.

Military graveside services by the United States Army and the Garrett and Auburn American Legions will take place in Christian Union Cemetery – Garrett, IN.
