Obituary

Joseph Charles Ley, 52 of Garrett, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. He was born July 20, 1959 in Garrett to the late Charles and Victoria (Bonkoski) Ley. He was a graduate of Garrett High School and an electrician for the Electrical Workers Local Union 305 in Fort Wayne. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett and was a member of the Garrett Eagles. He is survived by two sons, Nicholas (Amanda) Ley of Fort Hood, TX and Michal Ley of Auburn; his daughter, Madison Ley of Auburn and two sisters, Peg Gaar of Garrett and Connie Ley and her companion Dick Clark of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Catherine Ley and a brother in-law, Terry Gaar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett with Fr. Andrew Nazareth officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Avilla. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Garrett and on Monday at the church from 11 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Memorials are to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic School
