Joyce A. Tackett, age 80, of Garrett, passed away on November 28, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born April 7, 1933 in Columbus, OH to James Gall Jr. and Anna C. (Seum) Gall and they preceded her in death. She worked at North American Van Lines in Fort Wayne for over 20 years, retiring in 1994. Joyce is survived by a son, Owen McClelland of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter, Julie (Robert) Kahlke of Garrett; brother, John Gall of Rockland, Maine; sisters, Jane Philbee of Churubusco and Anna "Lou" Gall of Kalamazoo, MI; three grandchildren, Sabra Hunter of Columbia City, Carla Choi of Butler and Karl Kahlke of Garrett and six great grandchildren, Nautica Hunter of Columbia City, Madalyn and Preston Hunter of Garrett, Myra , Enoch and Elijah Choi of Butler. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Gall III. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 3 from 12 to 1 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, with Pastor Tom Wilcoxson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
