Juanita N. Rhodes, 89 of Garrett, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at The Cedars in Leo. She was born August 23, 1921 in Garrett to Fred and Emma (Gieser) Brinkman and they preceded her in death. She married Kenneth W. Rhodes on June 25, 1950 in Garrett and he died on February 18, 1986. She had worked at GE in Fort Wayne for 39 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Garrett Presbyterian Church. Juanita loved to travel and shop and had an extensive collection of Precious Moments figurines and Salt and Pepper Shakers. She also loved spending time with her chihuahua. She is survived by her brother in-law, Chester Smith; sister in-law, Margaret Brinkman; nephews, Steve Culler, Paul Culler, Sam Culler, Fred Smith and Jeff Smith; nieces, Joyce Bradley, Rosemary Henderson, Dottie Pinnick, Barbara Balgoyen and Karen Brinkman and several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Paul Brinkman and sisters, Ruth Culler and Betty Smith. The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 12 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, with Pastor Susan Smith Bryden officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are to the Garrett Presbyterian Church
