Julia A. Boltz age 66 of Garrett, IN died at 3:22 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at her home. She was born September 21, 1944 in Garrett, IN to Dale and Victoria M. (Sherban) Bennett and he preceded her in death. Julia married Wayne E. Boltz on June 12, 1965 in Garrett. She had worked as a nurse's aide at DeKalb memorial Hospital for 15 years, before going back to school. She was a LPN at Sacred Heart Hospital, Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, and DeKalb Memorial Hospital. She was one of the first EMT's in Garrett, working for 8 years. Julia was a member of the First Church of Christ in Garrett and was a member of the DeKalb County Homemaker's Chorus. Julia is survived by her husband: Wayne E. Boltz, Garrett, IN; parents: William A. and Victoria M. Ort, Garrett, IN.; step-mother: Annabelle Bennett, Ft. Wayne, IN; a daughter: Bethann (Barry) Ousley, Syracuse, IN; 2 sons: David (Joyce) Boltz and Michael (Janell) Boltz, both of Garrett, IN. She is survived by 2 brothers: William "Chuck" (Terry) Ort, Garrett, IN and Bruce (Judy) Bennett, Ft. Wayne, IN.; 2 sisters: Alice (Jerry) Weller, Garrett, IN and Pam Czarnowski, Plymouth, MI. She is survived by her grandchildren: David Jr. (Toni) Boltz, Tiffany Boltz, Cord Boltz all of Garrett, IN. Jessica (Cody) Immel, Ft. Wayne, IN; Caitlan Boltz, Aiden Boltz, Conner Boltz, and Sophia Boltz all of Garrett, IN. Lee (Shawna) Boltz, Huxley, TX, Charley Ousley, Syracuse, IN; Ethan Ousley, Syracuse, IN and Justin Ousley, Columbia City, IN. She is survived by her great grandchildren: Payton Boltz, Aleha Boltz, and Alexis Boltz all of Garrett. And Xion Immel, Ft. Wayne, IN and a step-great granddaughter: Hannah, Huxley, TX. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN and from 9-10 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at the First Church of Christ in Garrett. Services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at the First Church of Christ - Garrett, IN. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett, IN Memorials are to the Lutheran Hospital Kidney Transplant Unit.
