Karl K. Kearns Sr. age 85 of LaOtto, IN died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Miller's Merry Manor - Garrett, IN. He was born February 14, 1924 in DeKalb County, IN to Joseph L. and Mabel (Kahlo) Kearns and they preceded him in death. He married Phyllis Traxler on September 30, 1950 in Garrett, IN. He worked at GE in Fort Wayne, IN as a wire drawer for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church - Garrett, IN. Survivors: Wife - Phyllis Kearns, LaOtto, IN Son - Ronald Kearns, Garrett, IN Son - Karl K. and Dawn Kearns Jr., LaOtto, IN Daughter - Karen and Booth Elliott, LaOtto, IN Daughter - Diane and William Robb, Fort Wayne, IN 11 Grandchildren 17 Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by: Parents - Joseph L. and Mabel Kearns Brothers - Robert and Joseph Kearns Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Home and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Garrett. Services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Davis Mix and burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett, IN.
